About Tri Delta
Tri Delta was founded by women, for women, in 1888 at Boston University when our Founders bravely created a new organization that would “think more of a woman’s inner character than her outward appearance.” Their vision has grown into the dynamic women’s organization we know today.
Today, Tri Delta is a network of nearly 250,000 women, and we are committed to lifelong learning through educational initiatives, transformational programming and relevant personal and professional development.
From supporting Tri Delta’s Foundation—which empowers collegiate and alumnae members through transformational programs, scholarships and emergency financial support—to supporting the life-saving mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and local children’s cancer charities, Tri Deltas are passionate about serving others.

About Our Chapter
The San Jose Alumnae Chapter has been going strong for 77 years! Our members have varied backgrounds and attended different colleges at different times, but our Tri Delta history is our common thread. We are a friendly, caring sisterhood of women united through the values of truth, kindness and friendship. We welcome all Tri Deltas and hope you’ll join us!
In addition to the bond between our alumnae members, we share our love and support with local Tri Delta collegiate members. We've served as Pansy Pen Pals, celebrated joint Founder's Day meals with homemade dishes, helped with new member recruitment and even served as collegiate advisors.
Over the years, our chapter has received numerous convention awards including Outstanding Community Service, Outstanding Fraternity Education, Outstanding Newsletter, Outstanding Trident Articles, Outstanding Member Experience, Outstanding Membership Development, Outstanding Alumnae Communication and Outstanding Collegiate/Alumnae Sisterhood. Several of our members have filled National Offices including Collegiate District Officers, Financial Specialists, Philanthropy, References and Alumnae District Officers.
Recently we were thrilled to be one of only ten chapters in the country to receive the Five Star Award from Tri Delta for alumnae chapter excellence in all five areas: Community Service, Philanthropy, Operations, Membership and Financial Practices!
